PERSONOGRAPHY related to the CENSUS OF MODERN GREEK LITERATURE
Identifying and tagging the person names in the CENSUS collection will distinguish them by their function in each publication (creative author, translator, editor, scholarly author, etc.). A ‘personography’ (prosopography) seeks to define an authority form (Greek and English) for each Greek author’s name (along with his/her dates), as well as to include all the variant spellings occurring in the publications. For establishing the authority forms, reference will be made to international sources including 'The Library of Congress Authorities' (authorities.loc.gov/), the National Library of Greece's 'Archive of Authorized Terms' (kopac.nlg.gr/cgi-bin/koha/opac-authorities-home.pl), and 'The Virtual International Authority File' (viaf.org).
